USTA Eastern 10 & Under Tennis

10 & Under (10U) tennis allows players to grasp the fundamentals of the sport. Participants learn about grips, preparation, swing path and ball placement. The equipment and courts are tailored to skill level, so kids can see their improvement and have fun right from the start.

Net Generation PlayTracker

Parents and players aged 5-10 can use the Net Generation PlayTracker to navigate their progress. Through PlayTracker—which is in alignment with the American Development Model (ADM) framework—players collect points after playing in USTA Team Challenges, USTA Junior Team Tennis, and USTA Junior Circuit programs. Using this point system, the USTA aims to create a positive early experience for all athletes and maximize their full potential.

10U Junior Circuit Tournaments and Levels

Players can begin competing in orange ball tournaments when they are seven years old. (Players six and under are encouraged to participate in Red Ball Team Challenge events.) Once the Orange and Green Net Generation levels are completed—or on the first day of their 11th birthday month—players can participate in yellow ball tournaments.

Orange Ball Tournaments: Orange ball tournaments are one-day events. Match play lasts 3-5 hours and will utilize a "Round Robin" format. Tournaments can be co-ed or single gender. Players will receive 100 Net Generation PlayTracker "play points" when they participate in an orange ball tournament. Learn more about "play points".

Green Ball Tournaments: Green ball tournaments are one-day events. Match play lasts 3-5 hours and will utilize a "Round Robin" format. Tournaments can be co-ed or single gender. Players will receive 100 Net Generation PlayTracker "play points" when they participate in a green ball tournament as well as Net Generation PlayTracker "win points" for winning singles (100 points) and doubles (50 points) matches. Players are capped at 500 points per green ball event. Learn more about "play points" and "win points".

Junior Team Tennis: 10 and Under Junior Team Tennis (JTT) is offered in two divisions: Orange and Green. Typically JTT events for the age group are held over one day, but some regions offer leagues with multiple dates. Players receive Net Generation PlayTracker "play points" for participating in any JTT team event and "win points" after a victory at the green level. Learn more about "play points" and "win points".
