Top American juniors named to the Junior Davis Cup and Junior Billie Jean King Cup teams

Six top juniors have been nominated to represent the U.S. at the Junior Davis Cup and Junior Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals to be held October 30-November 12 in Cordoba, Spain. Darwin Blanch, Iva Jovic and Tyra Grant lead the team, with all three in the Top 25 in the ITF junior rankings.


The world’s premier 16-and-under team competitions get underway first with the boys, competing October 30-November 12, followed by the girls, competing November 6-12. The U.S. had a strong showing last year, and enters the 2023 Finals as the reigning Junior Billie Jean King Cup champions, while the boys finished runner-up in 2022.

The Finals consist of three days of round-robin pool play, with each matchup consisting of two singles matches and one doubles match, followed by the knockout round. 

 

The U.S. has won seven Junior Billie Jean King Cup titles (2008, 2012, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022) and three Junior Davis Cup titles (1999, 2008, 2014). Former U.S. junior international team members include Jim Courier, Andy Roddick, James Blake, Lindsay Davenport, Sloane Stephens, and Coco Gauff. Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz also have represented their respective countries in junior international team competition.
