Junior Billie Jean King and Davis Cup teams qualify for the 2024 finals

April 23, 2024

On Saturday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, the United States teams qualified for the finals of the world’s premier junior team competitions, the Junior Davis Cup and Junior Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge (16-and-under) and the ITF World Junior Tennis (14-and-under).

The North/Central American and Caribbean Final Qualifying rounds consisted of three days of round-robin play, with each tie consisting of two singles matches and one doubles match, with the top two countries from each four-country group advancing to the event finals later this year.

Once again, the American juniors had a strong showing at the event and qualified for the finals with ease, as all four teams advanced after 3-0 sweeps of their competition. Among the 36 matches played by the Americans across four divisions, the athletes only dropped a combined two matches.

The boys’ 14-and-under team, led by 2024 Les Petits As champion Michael Antonius, was the most dominant, going 9-0 in matches and 18-0 in sets. The U.S. Junior Billie Jean King Cup—the two-time defending champions—also went undefeated on their home courts.

The 2024 Junior Davis Cup and Junior Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals will take place in November at a location to be determined, while the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals will take place Aug. 5-10 in Prostejov, Czech Republic.
