About the speakers:

Mike Haber, General Manager, The Racquet Club of Lake Bluff

Mike Haber has more than 30 years of experience in the tennis industry as a player, teaching professional, college coach and sales representative. He is the General Manager at The Racquet Club of Lake Bluff. He has a wide range of experience teaching and coaching players from four years old to nationally ranked juniors and adult beginners to adult competitive players. Haber worked at Midtown Athletic Club for five years and was a former collegiate men’s and women’s tennis coach for six years. He has been a Tennis Director for tennis clubs in Colorado, Wisconsin and Illinois, and coached many players who have earned collegiate tennis scholarships. He was also the Territory Manager for Wilson Racquet Sports for nine years.

 

Haber is a certified USPTA, PTR and PPR Teaching Professional and USTA High Performance Coach. He is a past president of USTA Chicago, a district of the USTA Midwest, and remains a member of the Board of Directors. 

 

 

Robin Henders, President/Head Tennis Professional, Five Star Tennis Center

Robin Henders, along with his business partner Dan Brown, built Five Star Tennis Center in 2014 after running a successful summer program for seven years. Five Star Tennis Center is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year; its membership has grown to well over 1,000 members and its junior program has grown from 250 players to more than 1,100 players enrolled in programming. Robin also serves as the Chair of the Nominating Committee for the USTA Midwest.

Rebecca Johnson, Executive Director, Todd Martin Youth Leadership

Rebecca Johnson was born and raised in the Lansing area. She grew up in a tennis family and most of her time was spent either watching her brothers play or playing competitively herself. She graduated from Northwestern University in 2011 and moved to St. Louis where she taught middle school special education for two years.

 

In 2013, Johnson moved back to Michigan to work for Todd Martin Youth Leadership as the high school program coordinator and data consultant. After getting married in 2014, she moved to Milwaukee with her husband, Ronnie, where she completed her masters in social work at the University of Milwaukee-Wisconsin. She was a school social worker at a high school on the south side of Milwaukee for the 2016-2017 school year.

 

Rebecca and Ronnie moved back to the Lansing area in June 2017 and were excited to welcome their first baby, Elizabeth, in September. Since then, Rebecca and Ronnie welcomed another child, Isaiah, in April 2021.
