Warmer days are ahead of us—well maybe some colder days too, it is the Midwest after all—and so are our Open Level 5 tournaments! We have one this month April 20-21. Be sure to register before April 14 and get ready to show off all that you learned during winter training! Ready to sign up? Use the following links.

DISTRICT TEAM CUP

Each summer, Midwest juniors represent their districts in an exciting mixed team competition! The top teams advance to the championship match. One brings home the trophy!

MID-AMERICA MASHUP

Introducing the NEW! Mid-America Mashup! This Level 4 team tournament is closed to members and residents of the USTA Midwest, Missouri Valley, Middle States and Mid-Atlantic Sections with player selections based off of the most recent National Standings List (NSL).

SHOW OFF YOUR DESIGN SKILLS

Do you want to leave your mark on Midwest's biggest junior tournament of the year? You can! Show off your creativity and submit a design for our official 2024 Midwest Closed t-shirts. Our staff will work together to choose the top two designs submitted by junior players, and then the designs will be showcased on our Midwest social media platforms, where our followers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite design! The winner will be announced in early May.

EASTER BOWL

Did you catch the results from the USTA National Spring Championships, the FILA Easter Bowl at Indian Wells? Nadia Poznick from Southeastern Michigan placed third in the G12 singles division and Sophia Khomoutov from Chicago also placed third, but in G12 doubles. Congratulations to all of our players who had the chance to compete! And a special shoutout to Addison Lanton (pictured) from Chicago who was recognized for her excellent sportsmanship!

 

BREWER TEAM CUP RESULTS

The Brewer Team Cup took place last month. Formerly known as the Spring Team Championships, it is one of USTA's premier Level 1 team championship events. The boys and girls 14s through 18s divisions were held in Mobile, Alabama, while the boys and girls 12s were out in Tucson, Arizona. Players from all over the country were split into teams to compete in both singles and doubles events. Congratulations to Chicago players Addison Lanton (G18s) and Nicholas Du (B14s) for helping lead their teams to a championship win! A big shoutout to all of our players who competed and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, too!

 

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CAMP

USTA Midwest organized a Player Development Camp at the Greater Midland Tennis Center. The camp brought together top 14-and-under junior players from the Midwest and six of our best coaches. Players got to experience a variety of drills, point play, games and more!

 

NATIONAL TENNIS MONTH
