Exciting Updates for Tri-Level Sectional League Championships

It’s that time of year again! USTA Leagues are here, and with the new season comes the chance to compete in the Adult League National Championships through hard work and grit. Here in the Mid-Atlantic, Sectional League Championship planning is underway and we have some exciting news! In 2024, The Tri-level National Invitational expanded to include Men’s and Women’s 4.0/3.5/3.0 and 5.0/4.5/4.0. This means that more teams have the opportunity to represent the Mid-Atlantic and advance to the National Invitational. 

Since the USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation needs to accommodate more teams at the Tri-Level Sectional Championships, we have important updates for our captains and players to note. 

• The USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation Tri-Level Sectional Championship for the 2024 Championship year will occur in Fall 2024 instead of January 2025. 

• The USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation Combo Sectional Championship for the 2024 Championship year will occur in Spring 2025 instead of Fall 2024. 

With the League Championship event date change, the Combo and Tri-Level local season dates may be adjusted in some areas to accommodate the new League Championship dates. Adult League Managers and Coordinators are dutifully working to update the Adult League Calendar and will continue to provide updates as they are available.

It’s important to note that the fall 2024 Tri-Level Sectional Championships coincides with the USTA Adult 18 & Over National League Championships. However, every effort will be made to avoid conflicts with national events in the future. 

Ready for the journey to league championships but don’t have a team yet? Consider becoming a captain and starting your own team. You will not only grow tennis in your area but you will be able to meet more tennis friends! As an added bonus, the first captain for each team will receive a discount off their league registration.
