Safe Play™

The USTA is committed to making every tennis experience a safe and memorable one.

Tennis is for everyone.

To ensure a safe environment, the USTA has developed the Safe PlayTM program.

What is Safe Play™?

The USTA is committed to promoting safe and respectful environments for athletes to thrive in. Safe PlayTM is the comprehensive athlete safety program consisting of education, screening, reporting tools and policies for appropriate conduct in tennis. The USTA works with the U.S. Center for SafeSport and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee to develop Safe PlayTM policies, procedures and educational resources to support the program.

SafeSport Courses for All

Let’s create a safe and respectful sporting environment together.

*THESE COURSES DO NOT REPLACE THE SAFESPORT TRAINING REQUIRED FOR SAFE PLAY APPROVAL. These courses are designed to educate parents, adult athletes and volunteers about crucial aspects of sports safety.

**To become Safe Play Approved, scroll to the top of this page and click "Get Approved."

All USTA employees are required to complete the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s SafeSport training on an annual basis. The SafeSport training arms employees with the information on how to identify and prevent misconduct, as well as how to report it. View the list of SafeSport Trained USTA-employees.
