St. Louis squads capture District League Championships

District League Championships recently took place for USTA St. Louis adult teams, with several squads punching their tickets to the 2024 USTA Missouri Valley Section Championships. At the section championships teams will take aim at advancing to the USTA League National Championships, which are scattered throughout the country this fall.

 

On May 17-19, District League Championships for 18 & Over women’s teams (3.0 to 4.5) occurred at Creve Coeur Racquet Club, Woodsmill Tennis Club and Chesterfield Athletic Club. More than 280 matches were played during the weekend with the following 18 & Over teams capturing district titles to progress to the section championships.   • Peterson (4.0)

On May 30 to June 2, 150 matches were scheduled to be played and the following USTA St. Louis 18 & Over men’s teams clinched district championships. To view championship photos of these squads, click here.

 

  • Rhoads/Internetters (3.0)
  • Rhoads/Gregerson (3.5)
  • Harris (4.0)
  • Huchet/Ariston (4.5)

 

During that same weekend, the 18 & Over 2.5-level women’s team captained by Rhoads/Malone snagged a district title to secure a section championship spot (photo here). The squad will next compete Aug. 2-4 at Dwight Davis Tennis Center and will be joined by the 3.5-level and 4.5-level men’s/women’s teams in St. Louis. The 3.0/4.0 men’s and women’s squads will next play in Oklahoma City on Aug. 16-18.

 

Also progressing to Oklahoma City on Aug. 16-18 is the USTA St. Louis 18 & Over 5.0 men's White/Burke team. The high-level squad of nine players will take aim at punching its ticket to USTA Nationals. Click here for a photo of some of the team's members.
