USTA SOUTHWEST ADULT TRI-LEVEL LEAGUE INVITATIONAL

A section title will be up for grabs at the USTA Southwest Adult Tri-Level League Invitational in Tempe, Arizona, January 17-19, 2025.
This event, while held early in the year in 2025, is the culmination of 2024 USTA League play in Tri-Level leagues, and thus it's a 2024 calendar championship. We get it, it's a bit confusing!
Our three-day tournament will be held at longtime USTA Southwest league championships facility host, Kiwanis Tennis Center in Tempe Arizona. Kiwanis' is a past USTA Outstanding Facility Award winner, has played home to the USTA Winter National Championships, and has been a frequent host of past USTA Southwest section championship events.
Teams of players from all over the Southwest will make their way to Tempe for a chance at the Tri-Level event, which is comprised of three team divisions (3.0, 3.5, 4.0), (3.5, 4.0, 4.5) and (4.0, 4.5, 5.0) all playing doubles lines in their respective gender.
Player lunches will be served on Friday and Saturday at the event.

HOTEL INFORMATION
We do not have a host hotel officially for the USTA Southwest Tri-Level Invitational in Tempe, Arizona, but do a Google search of "Hotels located near Kiwanis Park in Tempe," and plenty of options should pop up.
VIRTUAL CAPTAIN’S MEETING
USTA Southwest will hold a virtual (online) captain’s meeting Monday January 13, 2025 at 5:30 PM (AZ time) for this event that will go over event protocols and procedures. These are very informative and instructive to what goes on at the event, and each team captain's presence is required. Section League Coordinator (SLC) will send out the event link to qualified captain’s a week prior to the virtual meeting.

Team Line-Up Sheets: Completed cards must be turned into the Tournament Desk by the team captain at the playing location 30 minutes prior to when the match is scheduled to start. All team members on the line-up card must be present at the facility before courts and balls will be assigned. A match could start as early as 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time, so it is very important that your team is present and ready to play when the captain turns in the team line-up card. All players must be prepared to present photo identification to the tournament desk staff prior to going on court.
Tournament Rules- Please review the enclosed tournament rules. Please keep in mind:
· When you are assigned a court please make sure you are playing the right team and position.
· NO COACHING
· The 5-minute warm-up rule will be strictly enforced
· All Tie Breaks will utilize the Coman Rotation.
· Match format will consist of a Coman 10-point Match Tiebreak in lieu of the third set.
· All courts should report their score immediately after their individual matches before watching their team, a winner and an opponent come to the desk to report the score together.
· When the team match is completed the captain from each team must go to the Tournament Desk, wearing their masks, to turn in scores and SIGN the scorecard.
Awards– Champions and Finalists awards will be given out as play ends on Sunday or after completion of each division’s matches. The USTA Southwest Section, will provide up to 12 awards for each Champion and Finalist team. Additional awards may be purchased at the team’s expense.
MATCH SCHEDULE
A final match schedule will be posted on TennisLink a week prior to the championships.
All teams should initially plan on playing all weekend, with match times beginning Friday morning and finishing by 2 pm on Sunday. Keep in mind you can be scheduled for any time!
Teams defaulting courts at a Sectional Championship and/or coming to a Championship with less than the minimum number of players needed to fill all lines, are subject to grievances filed by the Section League Manager. Team penalties may include but are not limited to, non-advancement, disqualification (prohibited from participating in the Championship event) or suspension. See Regulations: 2.03F, 2.03I – L, 3.03A(7), 3.03D(4)
