HOW TO REGISTER
  • Download the USTA Flex app (download link: iOS or Android)

  • Log into your USTA account (no membership needed)

  • The home page will show all leagues available near you

  • Select your desired league and click Pay & Join

  • Go through the quick process of WTN self-rating (if you don’t already have a WTN)

League Format
  • Leagues typically run for 2-3 months and players will get roughly 1 match per week

  • Players will be assigned to flights based on their playing level

  • Players decide on the match date and location in mutual agreement with their opponents and record their scores in the app

  • Match scores count towards World Tennis Number (WTN) ratings

  • Round Robin format

    • Join before the league start date

    • Players will play one match against every person in their flight (typically 5-7 matches)

  • Ladder format

    • Join any time before or during the season

    • A new round begins every 2 weeks when players will be assigned 0-2 opponents based on their availability

    • Players move up or down in the rankings based on their match scores

World Tennis Number (WTN) Information
  • The ITF World Tennis Number (WTN) provides a global standard for players. It is a 40-1 scale, with 40 being a beginner player and 1 being an elite professional.  This scale is for all players, regardless of age, gender, or ability.  Players have separate ITF World Tennis Numbers for singles and doubles. ITF World Tennis Number was developed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The ITF is the international governing body of tennis that works with national associations worldwide to support the growth of the sport.

  • All recorded scores from USTA leagues and tournaments will contribute to your WTN rating.

  • WTN ratings are updated weekly.

  • All Flex League players will need a WTN in order to sign up. If you do not already have a WTN rating, then the USTA Flex app will prompt you to self-rate before joining a league.
