U.S. edged by Australia in Final 8

Up Next: 2025 Qualifying

The U.S. Davis Cup team awaits its draw for the 2025 Qualifying round, held the week of Jan. 27, 2025. The Qualifying round will feature a traditional home-and-away tie with the winner advancing to a new home-and-away round in September.

In the 2024 Davis Cup, the Americans advanced to the Final 8 in Malaga, Spain, but were narrowly beaten in the quarterfinals by Australia, 2-1. Taylor Fritz put the U.S. on the board in that tie with a straight-sets win against Alex de Minaur. Ultimately, captain Bob Bryan's team was turned back in the decisive doubles rubber when debutant Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul lost to Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell.

HISTORY

Since its establishment in 1900, no nation has won more titles than the U.S. The Americans have lifted the famous trophy 32 times, including at the inaugural event. The U.S. last won the Davis Cup in 2007 when the team of Andy Roddick, James Blake, Mike Bryan and Bob Bryan, with captain Patrick McEnroe, beat Russia in a 4-1 final.
