Tournament Levels

USTA Texas uses the USTA Junior Tournament Structure to create a standardized system and greater consistency for players, parents, and providers nationwide. This offers seven levels of events, ranging from Level 7 for intermediate players to Level 1 national championships. It also utilizes one national ranking system to distribute points consistently across the country.

The USTA is responsible for L1, L2 and L3 Open tournaments. USTA Texas is responsible for L3 Closed, L4, L5, L6 and L7 tournaments.

Junior Circuit

For players looking to get started with individual match play, the USTA recommends starting in USTA Junior Circuits. These non-ranking events provide a soft launch into a player’s tournament experience before advancing to ranking tournaments.

USTA Texas offers Junior Circuit events to players ages 10 and under. These events are hosted alongside all L6 and L7 Texas tournaments.
