Approaching the net in singles is a great way to take time away from an opponent on the tennis court.

 

Geometry, court position and the right environment are three keys to having more success with this tactic. 

 

Ben Zaiser, head tennis professional at the USTA National Campus, offers his tips to be successful in these three areas.

From approaching down-the-line versus crosscourt to being in position in comparison to your opponent, these tips will help keep your net approaches sharp and will help set you up for success.
