Improve your game: Alternating self rally drill

July 25, 2018

We’re going to show you a simple activity to get you playing tennis fast, combining simple drills that teach you the footwork and proper grips for forehands and backhands.

The goal of this drill is to combine the self-rally forehand drill with the self-rally backhand drill, alternating between the two shots.

With practice, you are on your way to hitting both the forehand and backhand with control and height.

Leah Friedman is a tennis professional at the USTA National Campus at Lake Nona in Orlando, Fla.
